Medicare Counseling from the Comfort of Home

What: Welcome to Medicare Virtual Fair

Medicare beneficiaries and those soon turning 65 are encouraged to take advantage of a free Welcome to Medicare Virtual Fair. The Louisiana Department of Insurance’s Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) will be available to help residents better understand their Medicare coverage options and benefits.

Our SHIIP experts will explain who is eligible for Medicare, when to sign up, programs that can help with costs, and how to avoid enrollment penalties and late fees. Staff will also be available to answer any questions you may have.

Residents who are interested should register online at www.shiphelp.org. Please sign up as soon as possible, as the deadline is Sunday, June 20. There is no cost to participate. If you have questions, you can contact senior health at 1-800-259-5300 or visit ldi.la.gov.
