Louisiana Veterans Seeking Insurance Licenses Can Now be Reimbursed for Exam Fees
Veterans applying for insurance licenses with the Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) are now eligible for reimbursement of the required exam fees. The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs recently approved the LDI’s application to participate in the Veterans Federal Exam Reimbursement Program effective November 1, 2018.
“I am proud that we at the LDI are now able to serve our nation’s veterans by having their licensing test fees reimbursed,” said Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon. “It is my hope that this will help veterans to explore insurance career opportunities in Louisiana and be able to provide a better living for themselves and their families.”
Veterans will need to pay any fees upfront at the time they take a licensing exam. Upon completion of the exam, eligible veterans have one year to apply for reimbursement of the fees through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). There is no limit on the number of tests an individual may take, or the number of times the same test is taken.
The following license types are eligible for fee reimbursement: Automobile Adjuster, Bail Bond, Casualty, Commercial Lines Adjuster, Crop Adjuster, Health & Accident, Industrial Fire, Life, Life, Health & Accident, Property, Property & Casualty Adjuster, Personal Lines Adjuster, Personal Lines Producer, Property & Casualty, Public Adjuster, Surety, Surplus Lines, Title and Workers’ Compensation Adjuster.
