Professional Employer Organization Registration Renewal
Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) registration expire annually on date of issuance and must be renewed by filing a renewal and paying the required fee prior to the expiration date. Renewals can be filed beginning 90 days prior to expiration. Failure to file a renewal so will result in the expiration of the registration of the PEO. No provisions are made for late renewals or reinstatements and if the PEO wishes to continue to be registered, a new application must be filed.
Renewals for PEO registrations are now submitted using the Professional Employer Organization Renewal Module of the Industry Access System. After submission of the renewal form the user will be provided with an option to pay electronically using an ACH or credit card or printing an invoice to mail in a payment. If the payment is mailed, it must be postmarked no later than the date of expiration in order to renew the registration. If you are renewing multiple PEOs at the same time and the option for mail in payment is chosen, you may combine all of the payments into a single check or money-order but YOU MUST INCLUDE COPIES OF ALL INVOICES TO WHICH THE PAYMENT SHOULD BE CREDITED.
To submit the renewal, the user will need to create an Industry Access User ID and associate that ID with the PEO(s). You may use one User ID to submit renewals for multiple entities and if you already have an Industry Access User ID for other purposes, you may use that same ID. You may find instructions on the creation of a User ID and association of that ID with the PEO(s) at http://www.ldi.la.gov/industry/resources-and-publications/industry-access-training-webinars.
As indicated in the tutorial linked above, each entity will need an Industry Access Account Administrator (IAAA). The first user requesting an ID will be given the option to request the IAAA authority for the entity. That person will then become the “gate keeper” for all future requests for module permission. Each entity may only have one IAAA but may have an unlimited number of users with permission for PEO Renewal module.
You may request IAAA status and PEO Renewal Module permissions at any time but you will be unable to submit renewals until 90 days prior to the renewal date. The module will not permit submission of a PEO renewal after the renewal date.
