Producer and Adjuster License Renewals
Producer Renewals
Producers only need to file a single license renewal, which will renew all eligible lines on the license. Licenses renew on the last day of the birth month with the license number determining the renewal year. Licenses that end in an even number renew in even-numbered years and licenses that end in an odd number renew in odd-numbered years.
Adjuster Renewals
Adjuster licenses renew on the last day of the birth month with the license number determining the renewal year. Licenses that end in an even number renew in even-numbered years and licenses that end in an odd number renew in odd-numbered years.
Business Entity Renewals
The renewal date for both producer and claims adjuster business entities is March 31 in an even or odd year based on license number.
Exception – The renewal date for Portable Electronic licenses is December 31 in odd years.

WHEN AND HOW TO FILE
Licensees can file a license renewal online in one of two ways:
Industry Access Portal: Producers and adjusters may file a renewal through the Producer/Adjuster Portal Module in Industry Access. The option for renewal will appear 90 days before expiration of the license. It is strongly recommended that you register in Industry Access in advance of your license expiration. Initial requests for registration take a minimum of 24 hours.
OR
National Insurance Producer Registry: Producers and adjusters may also file online renewals using a credit card through the National Insurance Producer Registry.
Note to resident licensees with a continuing education requirement: If you hold a line that requires continuing education, you must be in compliance with that requirement before an online renewal can be filed through the National Insurance Producer Registry. The last 5 days of the month, however, you may submit a provisional renewal through the Industry Access Portal by uploading any recently completed continuing education course certificates to fulfill your continuing education requirement at the time you submit your renewal. Your application will not be processed until continuing education compliance has been verified by LDI staff, but if the application is complete and no continuing education hours are outstanding, it will be considered an on-time renewal when it is processed.
You can check the status of a previously submitted renewal by accessing the current list of active producers and adjusters here.
Partial Renewals
At the time of renewal, a licensee may choose to not renew one or more lines on a license. Any lines that are non-renewed will be cancelled from the license.
Cancelled lines may be reactivated by filing an initial license application. If re-application is within two years of cancellation, the lines may be reissued by complying with any applicable continuing education requirements. If more than two years have passed since the line was cancelled, all applicable prelicense education and exam requirements would be required.
Claims Adjuster Standards of Conduct
Act 402 of 2021 Regular Session of the Louisiana State Legislature set forth certain standards of conduct for claims adjusters to adhere to when adjusting Louisiana claims. Act 402 also requires that a licensed claims adjuster acknowledge that they have read the standards of conduct upon license issuance and at each license renewal. This acknowledgement has been incorporated as part of all initial or renewal applications. To review the Claims Adjuster Standards of Conduct, click here.
