The Louisiana Department of Insurance (LDI) offers additional resources and assistance to policyholders, some of which are outlined below.

Consumer Assistance

The Office of Consumer Advocacy and Diversity serves as the first point of contact for many consumers who have questions about their insurance.

The Office of Consumer Services assists with consumer complaints and questions. The office also conducts market analysis and examinations.

The LDI also houses two insurance commissions which review and study issues impacting health and property and casualty insurance coverage. The Louisiana Health Care Commission and the Louisiana Property & Casualty Commission each submit an annual report to the Louisiana Legislature
