Office of Consumer Advocacy and Diversity
The Office of Consumer Advocacy is tasked with creating educational and informational programs and presentations regarding how the Department of Insurance can assist consumers and opportunities available in the insurance industry.
Our Consumer Advocacy staff also frequently participates in events and speaking engagements within the community to explain the resources available through the LDI. The office also works to educate consumers on the Policyholders Bill of Rights and houses the Division of Diversity and Opportunity. The Division of Diversity and Opportunity assists small, minority, and disadvantaged insurance agencies, producers and individuals by providing support and education.
To find out if the Consumer Advocacy staff will be in your area or to request a speaker for your organization or group, call (225) 219-4775 or send an email to [email protected].
Policyholders with questions about insurance or who need help can contact the Office of Consumer Services. The staff of the Office of Consumer Services responds to consumer questions and also reports violations of rules, regulations or laws to the appropriate office.
