Fingerprinting Requirements for Company Licensing Applications
All officers, directors, trustees, and all individuals who control, directly or indirectly, are required to be fingerprinted in order to complete their application for a domestic regulated entity*. This requirement also applies to all individuals for whom Regulation 66 is applicable.
The Louisiana State Police (LSP) is transitioning to a new statewide fingerprint vendor IdentoGo/Idemia for the processing of criminal background checks. IdentoGO locations for Livescan fingerprinting are available throughout Louisiana and in multiple other states. Louisiana residents and nonresident individuals near an IdentoGO location will schedule an appointment to be printed at the most convenient time and location. Out of state individuals who do not have IdentoGo locations in their area may mail in hard card fingerprints to Idemia to be processed. Once LSP has completed the transition to IdentoGO/Idemia (anticipated to be completed in early 2024), LSP will no longer directly accept and process fingerprint cards.
Fingerprinting fees for Livescan fingerprinting services are paid to IdentoGo/Idemia at the time of the appointment. Nonresidents who are mailing in hard cards must pre-enroll prior to submitting prints. Processing fees for hard card submissions are paid in advance when pre-enrolling.
Fingerprinting Fees:
$60.75 – Livescan printing within Louisiana
$55.75 – Mail-in hard card processing
$55.75 + $39.99 convenience fee – Livescan processing outside Louisiana
Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure that fingerprinting results are received by the Louisiana Department of Insurance.

Any individual that is currently serving as an officer or director of another domestic regulated entity or has previously submitted fingerprints in association with a resident producer or adjuster license application may request a waiver of the fingerprinting requirements. Requests for such a waiver should be sent to [email protected]. The request must provide a full explanation of the application to be filed, the names of all individuals for whom the waiver is requested and clearly explain the grounds for the request.
A domestic regulated entity is any Louisiana domiciled entity which is required to obtain a license or certificate of authority from or to register with the Commissioner of Insurance. It does NOT include motor vehicle rental insurers, insurance agencies, brokers, managing general agents, producers, reinsurance intermediary brokers, claims adjusters or insurance producers acting as viatical settlement brokers pursuant to La. R.S. 22:1792(A)(1)
